On Thursday 5th April, 2018, an automatic sampler is installed under the Loyat bridge! A useful tool for automating water withdrawals in the Yvel.
The INRA team led by Rémi DUPAS made the trip to set up the grey sampler, about 80 cm high, on the edge of the bridge over the Yvel, rue du stade in Loyat. The machine can take a daily sample of water via its strainer which is lowered into the stream, it then keeps the water in an individual bottle inside. The machine has the capacity of 24 bottles allowing 24 days of autonomy. This saves researchers from daily travel and promotes the study of the evolution of nutrient flows.
