The bathing season at the beach of the Lac au Duc will soon open and after several months of preparation, the case-study partners met on June the 11th to finalize the protocol of action of the summer 2018.
Around the table, the University of Rennes 1 who leads the experiment, Ploërmel Community which co-finances and supports the project, Eau du Morbihan and the Regional Agency of Health who are guarantors of the quality of water related services, the SMGBO which coordinates the whole action and the company Arcadis that will perform the treatments. Together, they have noted the future means to implement and the calendar of curative action for the summer of 2018 which will consist of sprays of hydrogen peroxide.this will fight against cyanobacteria when their concentration is too great and prevents activities in the water.
In the coming weeks, a perimeter of protection will be installed around the bathing area in order to practice curative treatments. In theory, these treatments have a duration of effectiveness of 3 weeks, after a closure of 3 days of bathing to allow the treatment to act.
